Agronomy Operations Intern

 We are accepting applications for internships until Friday, November 13th. 

About the Role? 

The Agronomy Operations Intern responsibilities involve learning and?assisting?in all aspects of Landus’ agronomy operations while gaining exposure to crop inputs, application services,?logistics, safety, equipment operation, and customer service. The Intern will?maintain?a positive attitude that promotes teamwork and a professional image for?Landus?Cooperative. ?? 

What will you do?? 

•  Work at fertilizer plant mixing, loading trucks, reading work orders and maps, etc.? 
• Learn about the dangers associated with NH3 and how to fill tanks with correct personal protective equipment.? 
• Accompany?Operations Technician while?operating?a tender truck to learn about pre-trip inspection, operation of tender equipment, reading maps, filling out log sheets, and vehicle maintenance.? 
• Learn dispatching of work orders, floaters, tender equipment, etc.? 
• Ride in floater to?observe?spreading techniques, use of GPS navigation system? 
• Ride with a sales representative taking calls, taking orders, soil sampling, grid sampling, crop scouting, etc.? 
• Understand the process to obtain Commercial Applicator’s License.? 
• Learn about?products?that Landus offers to customers.? 
• Learn about and perform seed treatment.? 
• Assist with aerial application.? 
• Observe?safety practices in?agronomy?department.? 
• Learn about transportation?logistics.? 

Requirements

Requirements of Role: 

• Currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year post-secondary degree program  
• A valid state drivers license
