Transportation Planning Intern

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for Planning students to join our Reston, Virginia (VA) office on the Transportation team! This is not a remote position. 

Responsibilities

• Solve complex problems, support project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to help bring our clients’ visions for the future built environment to life.
• Assist with a variety of transportation planning efforts, including Safety Action Plans, campus masterplans, parking and curbside management programs, and mobility planning.
• Support project analysis and deliverables using GIS, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Analyze data and information to help identify trends, evaluate alternatives, and support project recommendations.
• Participate in public, client, and project team meetings, using strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly communicate technical information and gain exposure to both the technical and client-facing sides of transportation planning.

Qualifications

• In the process of receiving a Planning Degree (Bachelors or Masters) from an accredited program in of the following majors:  
  • City and Regional Planning 
  • Urban Planning
  • Transportation Planning  
  • Or Other Related Major

Hourly Range: $30/hr - $31/hr
