Transducer Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op (January-June 2027)

This position is part of Evident Inspection Technologies division, which delivers solutions to complex challenges by inspecting mission-critical assets and infrastructure. This Co-op position is from January to June 2027 and is based onsite in Waltham, MA.

The Transducer Manufacturing Engineering Co-op will assist the Transducer Production Engineering department with design, testing, and documentation. The Co-op will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team comprised of manufacturing, electromechanical, and acoustic engineers. Projects will include fixture development, process optimization and engineering changes.

As a co-op working with our Transducer PENG team, you will be empowered and encouraged to be hands-on. You will contribute to our mission by working with the Production Engineering, Quality and Product Management teams.  A typical day for you will include:

• Lead primary project assigned for the co-op term from start to completion
• Assist Sr. Acoustics Engineer in evaluation, development and implementation of new test systems and protocols
• Assist production and production engineering team with other projects and tasks as needed
• Collecting and analyzing manufacturing data using Excel, Power BI and internal software tools.
• Conducting process audits and time studies, proposing improvements based on Lean Manufacturing principles.*
• Evaluating ergonomics and safety within the Manufacturing operations.
• Conduct studies and propose improvements to the test process flow and spatial utilization based on Lean Manufacturing principles
• Read and understand basic engineering drawings, schematics, block diagrams, and electrical component specifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently pursuing BS or MS degree in Physics, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or other Engineering discipline

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong background in physics is a plus
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong background in physics is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Programming experience in LabView, VB.net or C# preferred
• Experience with simple circuits and tuning components (capacitors, inductors) is a plus
• Experience with oscilloscopes, multi-meters, pulser/receivers is a plus
• Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different function
• Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
• Ability to take the initiative and drive for results

Pay rate: $25.00 per hour, depending on experience. 

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The pay rate for this role is currently $25 per hour. The actual pay rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
