About the Role

Our Placement Internship is a year-long programme offering an exceptional introduction to the Investment Management industry. Starting in June 2027, the internship spans twelve months and provides opportunities across a variety of departments. You will play an integral role within your team, taking on meaningful responsibilities that contribute to delivering excellence for our clients and positively impacting millions of beneficiaries worldwide. Successful candidates will be based at our London Victoria office.

INFRASTRUCTURE PLATFORM

Global Trading

The Trading Department is responsible for the execution and settlement of all trades on behalf of Wellington Managements clients, with strong infrastructure and control environment focus to support the complexities of trading across regulatory regimes.

Technology

A global, solutions-oriented group that drives innovation and operational excellence across the firm. It designs, builds, and supports industry-leading platforms that enable investment teams and client services to operate efficiently, securely, and at scale

Legal, Risk and Compliance

The Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams at Wellington ensure the firm's operations are conducted within legal and regulatory frameworks while managing risks effectively. The Legal team provides legal advice, handles contracts, and manages legal risks. The Risk team identifies and mitigates potential risks, while the Compliance team ensures adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.

The successful candidates will:

• • Be an undergraduate student who is eligible for a year-long industrial placement in your penultimate year of study – beginning June 2027
  • Have skills or experiences which demonstrate an interest in a career within investment management.
  • Be a highly motivated self-starter with a high intellectual curiosity.
  • Be proactive and have the humility and willingness to learn from and collaborate with their colleagues.
  • Possess outstanding interpersonal and organisational skills, be resourceful, detail-oriented, and have a strong work ethic. 
  • Able to work independently, in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment, where priorities change frequently.
  • Have strong systems skills, in particular familiarity and versatility in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Have foreign language skills but not required.
