Job Summary:

The Recruiting Intern supports the Human Resources team with full-cycle recruiting coordination and related administrative activities. This position helps attract, screen, schedule, and communicate with candidates; maintains accurate recruiting records; supports career fairs and onboarding preparation; and provides a professional candidate experience. The intern works closely with the US HR Generalist, hiring managers, employees, schools, and community partners while gaining practical experience in recruiting processes, employment practices, HR systems, and workplace professionalism.


Essential Functions:

  • Assist with posting approved job openings on company career sites, external job boards, school platforms, and other recruiting channels.
  • Review applications against established minimum qualifications and organize candidate information for recruiter or hiring-manager review.
  • Conduct or support initial candidate outreach and pre-screening using approved questions, scripts, and selection criteria.
  • Coordinate phone screens, interviews, facility visits, and follow-up meetings across candidates, hiring managers, and interview teams.
  • Communicate professionally and promptly with candidates regarding scheduling, application status, required information, and next steps.
  • Maintain accurate and timely candidate records, interview notes, disposition reasons, and recruiting activity in the applicant tracking system and related trackers.
  • Support sourcing activities by researching schools, community organizations, workforce partners, professional groups, and other talent pipelines.
  • Help prepare for and participate in career fairs, hiring events, campus outreach, open houses, and community recruiting activities.
  • Create and update recruiting materials, job-fair handouts, interview packets, candidate correspondence, and internal recruiting communications using approved branding and content.
  • Assist with reference, background-screening, pre-employment, offer, and onboarding coordination as directed and permitted by company process.
  • Compile recruiting activity data, including applicant flow, source effectiveness, interview activity, open positions, and time-to-fill milestones.
  • Support new-hire preparation by confirming documents, coordinating first-day information, preparing materials, and communicating with responsible departments.
  • Partner with hiring managers and HR team members to clarify scheduling needs, resolve routine coordination issues, and keep recruiting processes moving.
  • Protect confidential candidate and employee information and follow company policies, record-retention requirements, and applicable employment practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve candidate communication, recruiting trackers, event preparation, templates, and administrative workflows.
  • Complete special HR projects and other duties as assigned while demonstrating accuracy, initiative, professionalism, and dependable follow-through.

  • Build skill in reviewing applications, organizing candidate information, and applying consistent job-related selection criteria.
  • Strengthen professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication with candidates, managers, employees, and external partners.
  • Gain experience using applicant tracking, spreadsheet, communication, and reporting tools to support accurate recruiting administration.
  • Learn how confidentiality, equal employment opportunity, documentation, and company policy guide responsible recruiting decisions.
  • ​Practice managing priorities, meeting deadlines, requesting feedback, and translating feedback into improved work quality.

Minimum Qualifications:

EducationCurrently pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, or a related field.
ExperiencePrior office, customer service, campus leadership, volunteer, or administrative experience is preferred; previous recruiting experience is not required.
Systems KnowledgeWorking knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel; exposure to an applicant tracking system or HR information system is a plus.
Technical SkillsAccurate data entry, calendar coordination, document preparation, internet research, spreadsheet organization, and professional written communication.
Professional SkillsStrong organization, attention to detail, discretion, customer-service orientation, initiative, and ability to manage multiple assignments with guidance.

Work environment and physical requirements:

Work is primarily performed in an office environment, with periodic activity in manufacturing areas and at recruiting or community events.
The intern may encounter moderate to loud noise in designated manufacturing areas and must wear required personal protective equipment when applicable.
The position requires the ability to use a computer and telephone, communicate with candidates and employees, organize materials, and move throughout the facility as needed.
Some local travel, extended standing, or schedule flexibility may be requested for career fairs, hiring events, school visits, or other recruiting activities.
