Manufacturing Engineer Intern - Ditch Witch

The 2027 Summer Internship Program will run from May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027. Candidates must be available to start on May 17 and participate through the duration of the program.

What Will You Do? 

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for completing a small electronic circuit board project during the course of the summer. 

You will be responsible for the following tasks: 

• Design fixtures, tooling, lifting devices etc. for machine tools, welders, robots, and assembly functions.
• Assist with the documentation of the current facility layout.
• Create layout proposals for new and/or existing areas to create or improve the safety and efficiency of the production process.
• Work closely with other areas in production and support as needed to assist in completion of projects.

The work will be guided by other manufacturing engineers to provide mentoring and keep the project on task. 

What Do You Need? 

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements: 

• Majoring in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering from an ABET accredited university.      
• Completed junior-level courses preferred.       
• Strong desire to learn, collaborate, and effectively communicate in a team setting while achieving a common goal.       
• Ability to stay organized and able to use Microsoft Office programs without much direction.       
• Excellent problem analysis and resolution skills.      
• Bonus skills include 3D modeling using Solid Works or Solid Edge, AutoCAD, Ansys.
