Role description:

Arcadis is currently searching for an Entry Level Industrial Wastewater Process Engineer to join our Resilience Environment team in either Raleigh, NC, Indianapolis, IN, Novi, MI, Dallas, TX, Houston, TX, Philadelphia, PA, Atlanta, GA.

This intern position will utilize your technical knowledge of wastewater treatment to assist the project teams on interesting and important projects for industrial clients. Typical projects involve front end treatment concept development, detailed design of industrial wastewater treatment systems, water conservation, nutrient removal, sustainability and pollution prevention. This position will be an entry into rapid advancement within the company to other areas: project management; client development; seller/doer and technical direction. 

Role accountabilities:

In this role, your responsibilities will involve actively participating in design activities as part of a team. These activities include equipment calculations and sizing, vendor communications, water quality evaluations, supporting treatability studies, or field work at a industrial client site.

 Another crucial aspect of your role will be data management tasks such as compiling, manipulating, and evaluating data. You will provide support in writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda. You will contribute to the production of design drawings, figures, maps, and general and system layouts. 

Position duties include, but are not limited to:

Assist with water and wastewater treatment process design and solution development
Perform process, mechanical, and hydraulic calculations (pump, tank, and equipment sizing)
Develop engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents
Evaluate treatment alternatives through feasibility studies and data analysis
Collect, compile, analyze, and QA/QC technical and operational data
Prepare technical reports, permit applications, memos, and project documentation
Coordinate with project teams, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and field staff
Conduct site visits, facility assessments, troubleshooting, and process optimization
Support pilot testing, bench-scale testing, and water quality evaluations
Ensure projects meet safety, quality, budget, schedule, and travel requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

Candidate must be enrolled as a junior or senior pursuing a degree in either Environmental or Chemical Engineering
