Intern - Manufacturing Engineering (12 Months)

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

As an intern, your primary responsibility is to learn and gain practical experience while contributing to the company's goals and objectives. You will be working with manufacturing engineers and assigned project for continual improvement in high tech laser manufacturing operation for improving yield, process and reducing waste. These lasers are used in various advanced applications such as in life science, medical, manufacturing & material processing, microelectronics, aerospace & defense etc.  

Assigned projects will be in one or more of following areas;

• Process Improvement: You will assist in projects to improve manufacturing process including design and implementation of new jigs & fixture. This may also involve projects related to automation and manufacturing connectivity. You may be involved in creating and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Root Cause Analysis: You may assist in conducting root cause analysis to identify the underlying cause of problems or inefficiencies in the manufacturing process.
• Data Collection and Analysis: You may be responsible for collecting and analyzing data related to the manufacturing processes and products. This may involve using statistical tools and software to identify areas for improvement.
• Lean Manufacturing: You may work on implementing Lean Manufacturing methodologies, such as 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping, to reduce waste, improve quality, and increase efficiency.
• Project Management: You may assist in project management activities, such as creating project plans, tracking progress, and communicating updates to stakeholders.
• Documentation: You may be responsible for documenting processes, procedures, and project outcomes for future reference.
• Collaboration: You may work with other interns, team members, and supervisors to accomplish project goals and objective.

Overall, your primary responsibility as an intern in manufacturing for continual improvement projects is to learn and apply various tools and techniques to improve the manufacturing process and products while contributing to the company's goals and objectives.​​​​​​​

Work Condition: Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 6.30 pm (100% on-site)
