Drafter Design Intern

What you will do:

Support our Design Engineering team in turning engineering and design concepts into clear, accurate, manufacturing-ready technical drawings for prefabricated products, while ensuring consistency, manufacturability, and compliance with drawing standards.

• Prepare manufacturing-ready drawings for prefab cabin components and assemblies, including fabrication, assembly, detail, and section drawings, and exploded views where required

• Develop detailed drawings for structural, architectural, mechanical, and product components based on engineering and design requirements

• Apply engineering drawing conventions, including dimensions and tolerances, geometric tolerances (where applicable), production and surface finish symbols, material specifications, drawing notes, and revision control

• Translate 3D CAD models into accurate, clear, and practical 2D manufacturing drawings

• Coordinate with Design, Manufacturing, Process, and Production teams, and revise drawings based on engineering review, manufacturing feedback, and prototype validation

• Maintain drawing standards, templates, naming conventions, and document control
  

You will fit in this job if you:

• Are a final-year student or fresh graduate in Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Product Design / Industrial Design (with strong technical drawing skills), or a related discipline

• Can read and interpret engineering drawings, and understand dimensions, material specifications, and component interfaces

• Are familiar with 2D CAD drafting and 3D CAD modelling (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar)

• Have a working knowledge of manufacturing processes such as steel and sheet metal fabrication, welding, CNC / machining, aluminium fabrication, and assembly

• Have a basic understanding of GD&T, tolerances, symbols, and manufacturing drawing conventions (highly preferred)

• Have strong attention to detail, and are willing and eager to learn new engineering and construction requirements

• Are interested in prefabricated construction, modular systems, and product engineering
