TRMCi Paid Intern Program (Full-Time, Temporary)

ASRC Federal Facilities Logistics LLC, under contract in support of the Department of War (DoW) Test Resource Management Center (TRMC), supports the TRMC Internship Program (TRMCi). This highly competitive program places students in hands-on research, engineering, and technical roles at premier Department of War test and evaluation (T&E) facilities.

TRMCi interns are placed onsite at Department of War Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) locations or other affiliated test and evaluation locations. A full list of potential locations is provided at the bottom of this posting.

Interns work directly with military and civilian mentors on projects supporting cutting-edge technologies, flight test, cyber defense, electronic warfare, space systems, hypersonics, and other mission areas critical to national security.

Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Internship Dates: June 7, 2027 – August 13, 2027
Program Duration: 10 weeks, full-time
Additional Benefits: Per diem, lodging, and travel support may be provided depending on duty station and individual eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Support research, engineering, and technical projects at an assigned DoW test and evaluation location.
• Apply STEM or technical coursework to real-world defense challenges in test and evaluation.
• Conduct data analysis, modeling, software development, prototyping, range operations, or other technical activities depending on placement.
• Collaborate with mentors, engineers, technical professionals, and fellow interns to solve complex problems.
• Participate in required TRMCi program activities throughout the internship.
• Present technical findings, project accomplishments, and recommendations as part of program closeout activities.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Department of War Secret security clearance within the necessary timeframe, which requires a background investigation. 
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Must be available to participate full-time for the entire 10-week internship period, June 7 through August 13, 2027. Candidates who are unable to participate for the full program duration may not be eligible for selection.
• Participation in TRMCi may be subject to eligibility restrictions associated with other federally funded internship, fellowship, scholarship, or similar programs. Applicants should disclose if they have applied to, been selected for, or accepted participation in another federally funded program, as participation in or acceptance of another federally funded opportunity may affect TRMCi eligibility.

Pathway Requirements

• Traditional STEM Pathway: Must be enrolled full-time in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in a STEM field, such as engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Artisan Pathway: Must be enrolled in a technical associate degree or certificate program. Examples include mechatronics, applied technology, advanced manufacturing, information technology, or a related technical discipline.
• Cybersecurity Pathway – National Cyber Range Complex (NCRC-U): Must be enrolled in an accredited associate or four-year degree program studying cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, information assurance, cyber operations, or a related technical discipline.

Additional Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Prior hands-on project, laboratory, research, or technical experience in engineering, computer science, data analysis, or a related field.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, C, C#, C++, MATLAB, SOLIDWORKS or other technical/modeling tools.
• Demonstrated interest in defense, aerospace, test and evaluation, engineering, technology, or national security applications.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, mission-focused environment.

• Applicants must be available for the full 10-week program, June 7 – August 13, 2027, unless an exception is expressly approved by the TRMCi Program.
• Applicants who have applied to, been selected for, or accepted another federally funded internship, fellowship, scholarship, or similar program should disclose this information to the TRMCi Program. Participation in or acceptance of another federally funded opportunity may affect eligibility for TRMCi.
• Unofficial transcripts will be requested later in the selection process.
• Applications will be reviewed in intervals. The first 50 candidates will be considered, followed by subsequent groups of 50.

Placement Note

While applicants may express interest in a specific location, final internship assignments are made by the TRMC Internship Program team based on range requirements, mission needs, available projects, and individual skillsets.

Selected interns may be placed at any participating MRTFB or affiliated TRMCi location to ensure alignment with program objectives.
