Electrical Engineer Co-Op

POSITION PURPOSE

This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply electrical engineering principles within a manufacturing environment while working alongside experienced engineers and project teams. The successful candidate will support electrical and control system projects from design through startup, gaining hands-on experience in power distribution, process control systems, construction support, and project execution. This role provides valuable exposure to engineering design, manufacturing operations, and cross-functional collaboration while contributing to site improvement and capital projects.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role are to:

• Prepare project electrical specifications and summaries for front-end design packages;
• Work with electrical designers to develop project drawings for electrical and control layouts, including schematics and installation details;
• Review electrical and control vendor drawings;
• Support construction activities related to electrical and control system projects;
• Assist in the development of electrical and instrumentation estimates for new projects;
• Support engineers in the development of electrical device specifications;
• Assist in the development of site power distribution and process control system designs;
• Support project checkout and startup activities at manufacturing sites.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required:

• Currently a sophomore or junior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering;
• Strong academic performance and technical aptitude;
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and diverse culture.

Preferred:

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Strong problem-solving skills;
• High degree of personal initiative;
• Excellent organization and planning skills;
• General knowledge of the National Electrical Code;
• No travel limitations;
• Agricultural background.

Employees can expect to be paid an hourly rate of approximately between $24.00 to $45.50. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits may include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. (if relevant).
