Intern Analog Engineer

Renesas is seeking a brilliant and motivated MSc student in Electronic Engineering for an internship to develop his/her final graduation thesis. The internship has a duration of six months to be spent in the new Renesas design center located in Catania, Italy. Objective of the internship is to perform research and development in analog and mixed-signal circuit design with a special focus on Power Management ICs and Smart Power Stages for High-Performance Computing. During the internship, the candidate will join the Performance Computing Power team in Catania working side by side with experienced engineers that will provide guidance and support throughout any technical challenge.

Responsibilities

• Perform transistor-level design of analog and mixed-signal circuit blocks
• Evaluate performance tradeoffs among different circuit topologies
• Document simulation results and conduct technical reviews
• Ensure design quality and compliance with specifications

Requirements and Skills

• Knowledge of CMOS and bipolar transistors, diodes, resistors, capacitors, inductors
• Basic knowledge of BCD technology
• Ability to design basic circuit blocks, run process/voltage/temperature (PVT) corners and Montecarlo simulations
• Knowledge of voltage and current references, current mirrors, amplifiers, comparators, oscillators & clocking circuits, digital gates
• Knowledge of feedback control systems
• Familiarity with switch-mode power conversion topologies and linear regulators
• Familiarity with Cadence design environment is a plus
• Good communication skills
• Good knowledge of written and spoken English
