DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker International is actively seeking a Roadway / Highway Intern, Summer 2027 to join our growing Tampa, Jacksonville, Orlando, or Tallahassee, FL office. As a part of our Civil Engineering team, the Intern will assist with various departments in technical duties and projects as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.
Assist project managers and engineers with various tasks.
Draft details and make MicroStation / Open Roads Designer and/or AutoCAD revisions.
Work under supervision of a project manager or a senior level team member.
Assist with data collection, input, verification, and manipulation.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Currently enrolled and in good academic standing, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or related field, at an ABET accredited University or College
Minimum of some secondary completed coursework in students’ field of study.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, are essential to success in this role.
Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
MicroStation / Open Roads Designer or AutoCAD software experience preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Valid U.S. Driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 30lbs. and assist in field inspections, including working outside in varying weather conditions.
COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $20 - $25 per hour. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
