About the Role

We are seeking a new Firmware Design Intern who will be involved in the design and development of advanced CMOS image sensors. You will be part of an international team that works in the design of timing and control signals for pixel array readout, amplifiers, and analogue/digital converters, signal processing blocks for noise reduction and colour enhancement, as well as I/O interfaces and low noise power supplies for use in Sony Semiconductor Solutions Image Sensors and similar specialty innovative products.  

 

You will be part of a multi-discipline camera and imaging systems team, defining and documenting specifications, as well as developing RTL/firmware to control the sensor and process the video data. You will focus on embedded firmware design, development, and verification for ASIC devices, writing low level coding in C language for ARM CPUs. You will be a hands-on contributor who will also take full responsibility for their tasks and collaborate with the Firmware Team to deliver the products on time.

 

You will need to work closely with other teams in Japan and the rest of the design teams in Europe, with cross-functional teams (analog design, PI, product engineering, and functional safety teams). 

The Internship will run in Summer 2027.

 

You will contribute to: 

  • Designing Firmware for CMOS image sensors used in ADAS systems
  • Development and Verification of hard real-time firmware on CMOS sensors
  • Support various internal and external stakeholders, and collaborate with the other teams

You will have: 

  •  Ongoing Study of Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer/Software Engineering 
  • Academic Background: Technical, Electronics, Software 
  • English speaking fluency  
  • Legal working permit in Norway
