About the Role

Job Summary:

The NPI & Test Lab Intern will assist with sampling, fixturing and testing for mechanical and electrical components for commercial and industrial applications.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze test system requirements
  • Perform operational testing procedures for electronic products, components, equipment, or systems.
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform electronics engineering tasks.
  • Assist in initial sample production runs. Ensures appropriate tools & machines are available
  • Preform light testing capabilities. Pull tests / Torque tests / Variability Studies. Engineering Standard requirements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production and Quality Control developing Process Control Plans.
  • Recommend design modifications of electronics testing or systems, based on factors such as environment, service, cost, or system capabilities.
  • Dependable to work when scheduled and to conduct self in a professional manner

Required Education and Experience:

  • Currently a Junior at an accredited University working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic or Industrial Engineering
  • Knowledge of testing and data acquisition equipment.
  • Electronics background with understanding of circuits and applications
  • Operating System knowledge

Physical Demands/ Equipment Used to perform the job:

  • Must be able to climb stairs and walk through manufacturing facilities with uneven floors, fluctuating temperatures and moving machinery
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in areas of production (i.e., Safety glasses, ear plugs, etc.)
  • Test lab environment with cycle testing equipment. Requires lifting of product/supplies ranging from minimal to 50 pounds on occasional basis and may periodically require it throughout a production shift. 
  • Individuals will be required to be mobile, with bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and crouching.
