Job Description

Are you interested in an Internship opportunity with Philips? We welcome individuals who are currently pursuing an undergraduate degree to participate in a 3-month paid intern opportunity at our site in New Kensington, PA. Through this role you will gain meaningful, hands-on experience working for a HealthTech company.

Your role:

  • Support verification and validation activities for new and updated electromechanical medical devices and their accessories at the component, subsystem, and system levels.
  • Assist with creating and executing test plans, test procedures, and test reports, and help review product requirements for clarity and testability.
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot test equipment for mechanical, electrical, and embedded-software testing; collect, analyze, and document test data.
  • Identify defects or unexpected results, support follow-up investigations and regression testing, and learn automated test tools while contributing to test scripts and test-method improvements.
  • Participate in project meetings, peer reviews, and team status updates while following quality-system procedures, work instructions, and documentation practices. Gain mentorship and hands-on experience in product development, verification, and validation.

You're the right fit if:

  • You are currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Your coursework, projects, research, or prior experience involves testing, design, data analysis, hardware, software, or laboratory work.
  • Your skills include product verification, troubleshooting, clear technical documentation, and an organized, detail-oriented approach to managing multiple priorities.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
  • You communicate clearly, collaborate effectively, and are comfortable learning new tools, processes, and technical concepts. Bonus if you have familiarity with Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and general test equipment.

How we work together

 

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

 

This role is an office role.

Philips Transparency Details

 

The hourly pay range for this position is $25.00 to $29.00, plus overtime eligible.

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
