About the Role

Agency Operations Support Intern – Summer 2027

If you’re looking for an internship opportunity that is fun, challenging and provides you with great real-world experience, look no further! We’re looking for someone who is excited about learning…about us, about our organization, how we do things, and how we assist field leadership throughout Farm Bureau.

What You’ll Do: As an Agency Operations Support Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience with the tools and resources we use to support our Agency Force and field team members. You’ll also dive into the Agent Experience — analyzing it, identifying opportunities for improvement, and contributing to their success. You’ll receive structured, hands-on training and develop a deep understanding of the agent experience, while also gaining exposure to sales and field leadership. You will also:

  • Support Sales and Distribution Programs
  • Maintain and manage team SharePoint Sites
  • Assist and participate in the Agent Cares & Concerns annual meetings
  • Provide support in meeting preparations
  • Support program administration with reporting

As an intern, you will also participate in corporate activities designed to provide exposure to our industry, organization, and culture. Our internship program follows an 80/10/10 approach:

  • 80% of your time will be spent performing meaningful work and project-based assignments within your department.
  • 10% of your time will be dedicated to learning from and networking with employees in other areas of the organization.
  • 10% of your time will be spent participating in shared internship experiences that provide insight into our culture, leadership, and business operations.

What It Takes to Join Our Team:

  • Be a current college student (Junior or Senior status preferred).
  • Be interested in supporting sales leadership and have a passion for helping others.
  • Be dependable, organized, and detail oriented.
  • Be an effective communicator, team-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work full-time in-person from our office in West Des Moines, Iowa during Summer 2027.

If you’re ready to get a jump-start in business, program coordinating, and leadership assistance, our internship might be the right fit. Get your career started on the right track and apply for an internship with us today!

Work Authorization/Sponsorship: At this time, we are not considering candidates that need any type of immigration sponsorship now or in the future, such as additional or permanent work authorization.  Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis. We are not able to sponsor now or in the future, or take over sponsorship of, an employment visa or work authorization for this role. For example, we are not considering candidates with OPT status.
