2027 Environmental, Health, & Safety Internship – ATI Specialty Materials

Target Students: Undergraduate and Graduate Students – Environmental, Health & Safety or related field

Make Safety a Part of Every Process – Intern in EHS at ATI

At ATI, we engineer specialty materials that power the next generation of aircraft, spacecraft, surgical implants, and energy systems. As an EHS Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting safety initiatives across ATI’s manufacturing operations. You’ll work with EHS professionals and plant teams to identify risks, strengthen safety awareness, and develop practical solutions that help create a safer workplace.

What You’ll Work On

Depending on your project assignment, you may:

  • Develop and facilitate facility safety inspections to identify potential hazards and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct formal task-based risk assessments to evaluate potential hazards associated with specific work activities and recommend appropriate controls.
  • Evaluate AI and similar technology solutions that could improve safety communication, awareness, and engagement.
  • Partner with EHS and operations teams to support facility safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Document findings and communicate recommendations to appropriate stakeholders.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in:
    • Environmental, Health & Safety
    • Occupational Safety & Health
    • Environmental Science
    • Industrial Hygiene
    • Related field
  • Interest in working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify potential workplace hazards and opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with EHS and operations teams.
  • Interest in safety technology and innovative approaches to safety communication.
