About the Role

Work Setting:  In-person (All in office/field)

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking summer interns for our Buffalo office. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of water-related projects locally and nationally, working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to provide designs, assessments, and field services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in fieldwork, site visits (mostly in-state) and potential client meetings; capable of walking around outdoors and within industrial facilities.  
  • Assist in preparing engineering deliverables, including power system studies, condition assessments, design documents (drawings and specifications), and reports. 
  • Work directly with experienced engineering team providing mentoring opportunities to learn and develop.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers, vendors, and utility companies to select equipment and coordinate services. 
  • Support multiple projects from planning through construction. 
Required Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in electrical engineering
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills 
  • Self-motivated 
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail 
  • Ability to work independently and in group settings 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Skilled in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, and SKM power systems software
  • Interest and experience in the water/wastewater industry
  • Interest and experience in construction
