Agtegra Cooperative is seeking a Feed Operations Intern in Ipswich, SD for the summer of 2027.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position will gain hands-on experience with the day-to-day operations of our feed division while learning about feed products, services, technology, and processes. The position will also assist with production, inventory management, and product handling while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of electronic creep feeder monitors.
  • Learn about Agtegra feed products, services, and programs.
  • Assist in the coordination of production, distribution, warehousing, and sales or feed products and services.
  • Assist in all feed mill operations, and ensure accuracy and precision is held in the mixing process.
  • Learn to properly read the diet requirements, followed by the feed mixing and blending process.
  • Provide a high level of customer service by displaying courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable interactions with our patrons. 
  • Performs basic clean-up and preventative maintenance on all equipment.
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and accurate loading, unloading, and deliveries of products.
  • Follow all PCQI and FSMA regulations.
  • Adheres to all safety regulations, requirements, policies and procedures, including OSHA regulations, the vehicle policy and fleet safety program, and DOT regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Enrollment towards relevant agriculture degree. 
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. 
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • English proficiency. 
  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation. 
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including a respirator. 
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above) 
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
