Position Overview

Our focus is simple but meaningful, from our distribution centers to our stores and our offices — every employee of C&S/SpartanNash and their family of companies works to help feed local families, neighbors, and communities. As an Intern you will have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the wholesale grocery industry, contribute to meaningful projects, and better understand what goes into running one of the largest privately held companies in the US. You will have the opportunity to work alongside other interns and C&S employees to expand your network, participate in professional development opportunities, and enjoy some fun activities!

 

Responsibilities:

 

●      Assist in daily operations and administrative tasks within the assigned department.

●      Support the preparation of presentations, reports, and other documentation.

●      Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance efficiency.

●      Attend meetings, take notes, and contribute ideas and insights.

●      Aid in further enhancing department tools, templates and methodologies

●      Gain exposure and knowledge on department functionalities

●      Develop positive professional relationships across departments

●      Complete special projects as assigned by your manager

●      Complete an end-of-internship presentation to showcase the completion of learning objectives

●      Support initiatives and daily business activities that align the organization’s technology capabilities with its long-term business goals.

●      Partner with Supply Chain, Finance, and HR leaders to document and sequence their initiatives to enable business capabilities.

●      Tracking ROI, value, and postmortem analysis of different projects.

We’re searching for interns that are:


●      Are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree program from an accredited college or university

●      Will have completed their Sophomore year by the start of the internship.

●      In good academic standing, with a preferred minimum GPA of 3.0

●      Currently majoring in Computer Science or a Business discipline

●      Proficient with Google’s suite of products preferred

●      Have proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required)

●      Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

●      Demonstrate strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.

●      Able to work both independently and collaboratively

●      Are organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities

●      Bring curiosity, initiative and willingness to learn and contribute

While performing the duties of this position, the associate is subject to a typical office environment and is rarely exposed to outside weather conditions. Temperatures may vary for those subject to any of the following areas: computer/server room, print shop, production area). The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate but may be high in distribution settings. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
