Title: 

Chemical Engineering Intern 

 

Arthrex, a global medical device company has a manufacturing support role for a Chemical Engineer in Lasermarking, Cleaning and Passivation operations manufacturing internship at the AMIE facility.  Gaining experience in support of operations with laser marking, laser cutting, robotic systems, and the chemical characterization of medical devices in contact with process fluids will be the focus of this internship. Process fluid characterization of cleaning processes and fixture development for new medical products in the cleaning and passivation operations will require a strong chemical and mechanical balance in the skillset.

 

This internship will run from May 2027 – August 2027. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Ave Maria, FL facility.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Laser durability in Passivation Operations for PASCLN process.
  • Chemical characterization of medical devices in solvent cleaning.
  • Cleaning of I&R devices using laser cutting techniques.
  • Optimization of existing fixtures for Cleaning Processes.
  • Documentation of Process Parameters In Process clean systems.
  • Feasibility of substitution of existing solvents for backup systems.

 


Education and Experience:

  • Progress towards a college degree chemoical engineering field required. (Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Basic to intermediate computer skills.
  • Be able to follow written and verbal direction
  • Familiarity with Dichloroethylene based solvents and laser marking processes preferred. 

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

  • PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
