Lincoln International’s Paris Debt Advisory team advises private equity sponsors, corporates and management teams on the structuring and execution of financing transactions, including acquisition financings, refinancings, recapitalisations and amendments.

The Paris Capital Advisory team operates with a lean structure, allowing interns to be fully integrated into a close-knit team and work directly alongside both junior and senior bankers throughout the execution of transactions. This provides significant exposure to all levels of the team and the opportunity to take on responsibility from the outset.

Debt Advisory combines financial analysis, transaction execution and direct interaction with private equity sponsors, corporates and financing providers. Interns are involved throughout the execution process, from the initial analysis of financing options and preparation of lender materials to lender outreach, due diligence, negotiation of financing terms and closing.

As an intern on the Capital Advisory team, you’ll benefit from the following opportunities:

  • Extensive, hands-on deal experience
    • Our interns are fully integrated into deal teams and work on several live transactions throughout their internship. The breadth of our assignments provides exposure to a wide variety of companies, sectors, financing situations and transaction structures.
  • Deeper exposure to private equity, private capital markets and leveraged finance: 
    • We work closely with private equity firms and interact with a wide array of capital providers, including banks, private debt funds and other alternative capital providers. This will give you a deeper understanding of the full spectrum of private capital markets and how different capital structures can be leveraged.
  • Strong analytical and technical exposure
    • You will develop a strong understanding of credit analysis, leveraged finance and debt structuring. You will contribute to financial modelling and debt capacity analyses, including leverage, cash flow, liquidity, covenant and debt repayment analyses, while developing a detailed understanding of companies' business models and financial profiles.

Duties & Responsibilies:

The Capital Advisory internship at Lincoln International provides an excellent opportunity to work in a demanding, yet supportive, team-oriented environment, including:

  • Performing company, industry and credit analysis
  • Contributing to financial models and debt specific analyses (leverage, cash flow, covenants, etc.)
  • Contributing to the preparation of internal and external marketing materials, including financing presentations, information memoranda and lender materials
  • Identifying potential lenders
  • Conducting comparable transactions and financing research
  • Supporting process management, including the coordination of NDAs, release letters and other transaction documentation
  • Supporting the due diligence process and interactions with clients, lenders and other advisers
  • Contributing to the execution of transactions through to closing

Qualifications:

Interested candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Candidates should have completed at least six months of prior internship experience in Debt Advisory, Leveraged Finance, M&A, Private Equity or Transaction Services.
  • Strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity and ability to work effectively in a demanding environment
  • Strong writing, verbal communication and computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French are essential for success in this internship
