TITLE: Product Sales Coordinator – Summer Intern (V)

DEPARTMENT: Vegetables (V)

REPORTS TO: Sales Manager

SUMMARY: This full-time summer internship is a great opportunity with the potential to transition into a full-time role. Bring your customer service, communication, and organizational skills and learn how L&M operates across NC, FL, and GA. As a Product Sales Coordinator Intern, you will support quality and production teams’ goals by assisting with planning, scheduling, directing, and executing production activities to ensure strong performance throughout the season.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with the Sales Manager and Sales Assistants
  • Oversee material and product inventories to ensure accurate availability
  • Direct truck drivers and confirm correct product loading
  • Assist growers with the Grower Portal, including printing tags and troubleshooting
  • May assist the Sales team with sales calls

TRAVEL:

  • Approximately 80% of the internship will take place in Clinton, NC, with approximately 20% taking place in Raleigh, NC
  • Travel between required internship locations may be necessary. Eligible travel expenses may be reimbursed based on the intern’s primary residence and in accordance with company policy.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Builds and maintains effective working relationship with growers and customers, while giving top customer service
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills – including the ability to listen effectively – and the ability to think / respond / react appropriately in fluid situations
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices
  • Knowledge of USDA standards and regulations
  • Computer proficient with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Must have the ability to reliably travel to various work locations as required

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) required
  • Some college preferred
  • Customer service experience
  • Fresh produce experience preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work may involve a combination of indoor and outdoor environments, with opportunities to move between work locations to gain exposure to different areas of the company and learn about various operations
  • Dynamic and fast-paced office environment
  • Warehouse and field environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, equipment, machinery, and vehicle traffic, including exposure to moving equipment, forklifts, agricultural machinery, delivery vehicles, and other equipment associated with company operations
  • May be exposed to dust, dirt, pollen, soil, plant materials, and other conditions commonly associated with agricultural and orchard environments
  • Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, humidity, and varying seasonal conditions
