About the Role

Are you looking to gain hands-on experience supporting large-scale energy infrastructure projects?

As a Projects Engineering Co-op Student, you'll work alongside experienced engineers and project professionals to support the planning, design, execution, and delivery of capital projects across AltaGas' Midstream business. You'll gain exposure to engineering design, project development, stakeholder collaboration, construction activities, and technical problem-solving while developing practical experience in the energy industry.

This role may include opportunities to travel to operational facilities and project sites to support field activities, gain exposure to project execution, and learn firsthand how engineering projects are delivered in the field.


What You'll Do

  • Support engineering and project teams with the planning, development, and execution of capital projects.
  • Assist with technical reviews, project documentation, engineering deliverables, and project coordination activities.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to support project objectives.
  • Contribute to cost, schedule, risk, and project performance monitoring activities.
  • Support project design, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities while gaining exposure to multiple stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and help identify opportunities to enhance engineering and project execution processes.

What You'll Bring

  • Currently enrolled in an Engineering co-op program pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Process, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Available to complete a 16-month co-op work term beginning in January 2027.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project and operational sites as required.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • A positive attitude, strong initiative, and the confidence to take ownership of challenging assignments and new learning opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with an eagerness to learn.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment.
