About the Role

About the Role

As a Working Student supporting Blacklane’s Travel & Expense function, you’ll help keep the review of travel and business expenses accurate, efficient, and aligned with company policies during periods of high activity and increasing transaction volumes.

You’ll work closely with the Travel & Expense Manager, reviewing expenses across at least three Blacklane hubs and supporting administrative and process-related activities as business needs evolve. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a global finance-related function while contributing to reliable day-to-day operations.

This role is based in Berlin, planned for six months and requires 20 hours per week.

Your Impact and Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Review travel and business expenses across at least three Blacklane hubs to support accurate and timely processing.
  • Check expense submissions against company policies and help ensure consistent application of the relevant guidelines.
  • Support the Travel & Expense Manager with administrative activities during periods of increased activity and transaction volumes.
  • Contribute to process-related tasks that help the Travel & Expense function work efficiently.
  • Organize and prioritize work across different hubs and changing business needs.
  • Raise questions or potential issues when information is unclear or does not align with the applicable policies.

About You

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Are currently studying Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Tourism, Travel Management, Hospitality Management, or a related subject.
  • Pay close attention to detail and have a structured way of working.
  • Are comfortable reviewing financial or administrative information.
  • Can work independently while also asking questions when clarification is needed.
  • Have good organizational and communication skills.
  • Are confident using digital tools and learning new systems quickly.
  • Have a good understanding of the travel industry.
  • Are familiar with business structures and processes, including cost centers, departments, subsidiaries, and internal work and approval flows.
