About The Company
Banco Plata is the fastest-growing financial institution in Latin America and the largest private digital bank by customer volume. In just three years, we achieved a $5 billion valuation and reached 4 million active customers. With over $2 billion raised in debt and equity, Plata—the U.S.-based holding company of Banco Plata—has surpassed $600 million in annualized revenue. Banco Plata has built a fully integrated technology ecosystem, including a proprietary core banking system, CRM, and a customer-centric app designed to simplify the financial experience. This is powered by 800 in-house developers and more than 3,000 frontline customer service professionals.
About the Role
We are looking for an Analyst Intern to join one of our analytics teams and work on real problems inside the fastest growing digital bank in Mexico. If you are in the final years of your degree or have recently graduated, enjoy working with data, and want to see your analysis turn into decisions, this role is for you.
This is a two-month paid internship, on-site in our Mexico City office, with a commitment of at least 30 hours per week. It is ideal for someone who wants ownership over a real project rather than observation, who is comfortable asking questions, and who wants to learn from people who do this work every day. Strong performance can open the door to a permanent role.

Challenges that await you:
  • Take ownership of one real analytical project from the initial question to the final recommendation, supported by a mentor who understands your work.
  • Pull, clean, and analyze data to answer concrete business questions from the team.
  • Build dashboards, metrics, and recurring reports that the team uses in its daily work.
  • Investigate anomalies and unexpected movements in metrics, and explain what is behind them.
  • Turn your analysis into clear conclusions and recommendations that a non-technical audience can act on.
  • Document your work so that others can reproduce and reuse it.
  • Present your results to the team and respond to questions about your methodology.
  • Learn how a licensed bank works end to end, from the product to the numbers it produces.
What makes you a great fit:
  • Student in the final years of a Bachelor's Degree, or a recent graduate, in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Basic SQL knowledge and confidence working with spreadsheets.
  • Analytical thinking: you use hypotheses to guide your work and interpret results.
  • Ability to turn data into a clear, actionable story.
  • Working level of English (mandatory): day-to-day work happens in English.
  • Availability of at least 30 hours per week for two months, working on-site in Mexico City.
  • Curiosity about how products, customers, and businesses behave.
  • Strong attention to detail and a sense of ownership over your own work.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with Python or R for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or Metabase.
  • Coursework or practical experience with statistics, A/B testing, or forecasting.
  • A previous internship, research project, or university project using real data.
  • Interest in fintech, banking products, or credit.

Our ways of working:

  • Innovative Spirit: A commitment to creativity and groundbreaking solutions
  • Honest Feedback: valuing open, transparent communication
  • Supportive Team: a strong, collaborative community
  • Celebrating Achievements: recognizing our wins together
  • High-Tech Environment: a team full of smart and revolutionary people who date to challenge the status quo of incumbent finances
