About the Role

The Opportunity:

As a Co-op, Manufacturing, you will work within the Production and Manufacturing team. Leveraging your experience from Electronics/Mechatronics engineering programs, this position will involve a variety of tasks aimed at supporting our engineering and testing departments, with opportunities to work on exciting projects related to our test fixtures, equipment transitions, and data organization. This position is hands on and in person, successful candidate should be able to work in an electronics lab environment, carry equipment weighing up to 30lbs.


This is an 8 month co-op starting January.


Location of Position:

This position will be based at our Burnaby, BC office.


Specifically, the Co-op, Manufacturing will:

  • Conduct research on transitioning our aging equipment to newer models.
  • Revitalize existing test fixtures working with test engineers.
  • Organize and clean up documents associated with test fixtures, both old and new.
  • Prepare documentation for release using Product Life Cycle management tool.
  • Review and optimize existing code to reduce cycle time (CT), implement best practices for current and new products, and automate manual implementations.
  • Upgrade test programs to latest version of Labview and Test Stand.
  • Shadow experienced technicians to gain hands-on experience and support their tasks.
  • Assist in providing information on Industry 4.0 tools to organize testing equipment and documents.
  • Evaluate options, including pros and cons, and gather pricing information to assist the decision-making.


What you Bring: 

Education and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in an Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering program.
  • Basic understanding of coding practices and optimization techniques.
