About the Role

Clēnera is a tier-one developer and independent power producer located in Boise, Idaho, and is the U.S. subsidiary of Enlight Renewable Energy (Nasdaq: ENLT). We develop, finance, construct, own, and operate utility-scale solar and energy storage facilities throughout the United States. In its 2025 analysis of solar independent power producers, S&P Global ranked Clēnera as a top ten U.S. owner of planned installations in the next five years. Clēnera has over 1.9 GW of solar and 5.1 GWh of storage in operations or construction, and a development pipeline totaling 17.8 GW of solar and 51.1 GWh of storage across 23 states. ABOUT THE ROLE

The internship program at Clēnera is designed to give current undergraduates an opportunity to immerse themselves into the complex world of renewable energy. We have created thoughtful experiences across the company to provide meaningful experiences for the interns and value for the organization. Students who will be successful in this program will bring a passion for the renewable energy industry, a strong work ethic centered around self-motivation, and a desire to learn and grow by working alongside some of the best and brightest in the industry.  

The Data Engineering & Reporting Intern supports the development of data pipelines, reports, dashboards, and visualizations used to support business decision-making processes. You will assist with collecting, cleaning, transforming, and analyzing data to provide insights into business performance and trends. 

*Paid 12-week internship opportunity starting in January 2027. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Assist with gathering, cleaning, transforming, and analyzing data from various sources.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining data pipelines that collect, process, and organize information from business applications and other data sources.
  • Write and modify SQL queries used for data extraction, validation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Create reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
  • Design and develop visualizations to effectively communicate data findings to stakeholders.
  • Assist with monitoring key performance indicators and providing updates on business performance.
  • Work closely with other departments to understand their data and reporting needs.
  • Perform data quality checks and validation to help ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data.
  • Test reports, dashboards, calculations, and data transformations for accuracy and functionality.
  • Assist with identifying and resolving data quality, integration, and reporting issues.
  • Help automate manual data preparation and reporting processes.
  • Create and maintain documentation for data sources, pipelines, transformations, data models, reports, and related processes.
  • Research emerging technologies and practices related to data engineering, analytics, reporting, automation, and artificial intelligence.
  • Collaborate with individual department, as well as cross-functionally with other departments within the organization.
  • Maintain organizational excellence in terms of project timelines and deliverables.

  • Other duties as assigned. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Undergraduate or graduate student, preferably entering their final year, pursuing a degree in computer science, data science, data analytics, information technology, or related field. 
  • Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines.
  • Skills/Attributes:
    • Foundational knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
    • Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
    • Familiarity with Python or another programming language used for data processing and analysis.
    • Understanding of data extraction, transformation, and loading concepts.
    • Ability to analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, inconsistencies, and insights.
    • Ability to assist with designing reports and visualizations that clearly communicate data findings.
    • Familiarity with cleaning and preparing data to support accuracy and integrity.
    • Proficiency with Excel for data analysis and reporting.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
    • Ability to learn new technologies and business processes.
    • Ability to manage assignments, competing priorities, and established deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
    • Self-motivated to work through complex problems and competing priorities, including a high level of detail and organization.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
