The Wind Intern at the Paldiski I&II Wind farms in Estonia.



Essential Responsibilities:


▪ Can safely use tools when maintaining wind turbines.

▪ Maintains power transmissions safely.

▪ Knows the hazards associated with handling various chemicals and can avoid them.

▪ Can safely organize lifting work when maintaining wind turbines.

▪ Knows the hazards associated with hot work.

▪ Can see hazards related to weather.

▪ Works safely in confined work areas of wind turbines.

▪ Can select protective equipment and its components. Select attachment points.

▪ Knows the safety requirements and restrictions when performing maintenance work.

▪ Knows the documentation used in wind turbine maintenance.

▪ Understands the importance of lubrication to prevent wear due to friction and can name

wind turbine components that require lubrication. Describes the hydraulic lubrication systems of a wind turbine.

Can perform inspection and maintenance of hydraulic equipment of a wind turbine. Can determine the quality and taste of the coolant.

▪ Can use tensioning tools. Names maintenance and inspection activities related to the structural elements of a wind turbine tower. Names maintenance and inspection activities related to checking the fastenings of wind turbine equipment.

▪ Lists maintenance activities for power transmission maintenance. Can determine the need for power transmission alignment and perform it if necessary.

▪ Acts with electrical hazard awareness. Can use the LOTO system to ensure safety. Lists maintenance activities related to electrical connections and cables.
