The Opportunity:
Your next step starts here. Be part of something bigger.
The University offers roles in just about every area you can think of. If you are looking for your next step, we can offer you employment opportunities where you can flourish. In Registry Services our people come from a wide range of backgrounds, each bringing their abilities and experiences to our organisation.
Are you interested in helping the University shape and improve how students choose and enrol on to their courses?
The University is exploring a new approach to how students choose and enrol onto courses, which aims to give students greater visibility, transparency and control when choosing their courses. The Teaching Timetabling and Course Selection Project (TTCS) is looking for Edinburgh student interns to work alongside the project team to research and define what students need from a future self-enrolment service. The interns will research the current student experience of course selection and enrolment, gather feedback from students through a variety of mechanisms, write up findings, assist the Design Leads with data-related tasks, and help turn findings into clear insights, recommendations and visuals for the project team and University decision-makers.
You will:
- Have good written and verbal communication skills
- Be comfortable talking and listening to other students
- Be interested in how the University could improve the student experience
- Be interested in understanding different student perspectives
- Be able to organise and interpret information
- Have interest or experience in user research, service design, business analysis, digital services or data analysis
Be currently enrolled as a taught student (e.g. UG, PGT) at the University of Edinburgh (and for the duration of the contract).
These internship posts are fixed-term up to 31 July 2027, and part time (14 hours per week). We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working, however, there is an expectation that the successful candidates will work on campus regularly to support collaboration and engagement with colleagues. Ideally, interns will be available to work in person on the key anchor day (Thursday), when relevant team members are also typically based in the office. Some flexibility to attend workshops or engagement sessions outside standard working hours may occasionally be required.
