About the Role

Detailed Description:

• Learn and develop an understanding of the company’s domestic and global logistics operations and shipping processes.

• Review and analyze current shipping practices, including freight costs, shipping methods, routes, and carriers.

• Research tariffs, duties, customs requirements, and other import/export costs impacting shipments.

• Analyze the impact of tariffs, duties, and freight expenses on the total cost of shipping products and materials.

• Review shipping data to identify cost trends, key cost drivers, and areas of increased expense.

• Compare shipping methods, routes, and carrier costs to identify potential opportunities for improved efficiency and cost savings.

• Assist with evaluating alternative shipping options and developing cost comparisons.

• Track and analyze logistics-related costs and prepare reports to summarize findings.

• Assist with documenting current shipping processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.

• Prepare summaries and presentations of findings, observations, and potential cost-saving opportunities for leadership.

• Ensure work aligns with company policies, procedures, and continuous improvement practices.

Job Requirements

• Strong data analysis skills and proficiency in MS Suite, particularly Excel

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong research and problem-solving skills

• Strong time management and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• Strong attention to detail

• Interest in logistics, transportation, and global trade

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Minimum Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a bachelor’s level accredited logistics, supply chain, international business, industrial engineering, or similar program

• Junior level credit hours

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework or experience related to logistics, transportation, international trade, or data analytics

Work is primarily in a climate-controlled / office environment with minimal safety / health hazard potential. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk with occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending and frequent near vision use for reading and use of computer, telephone and other office equipment.
