Position Description:

McKesson’s Undergraduate Intern Program provides an opportunity to experience the healthcare industry first-hand and apply academic knowledge in a real-world software engineering environment. Through project-based work across key business initiatives, you will gain hands-on experience developing and testing software solutions, including responsible applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, build a professional network, and strengthen the technical and interpersonal skills needed to succeed in a dynamic and growing business.

Undergraduate Intern Program Details:

• Paid Internship
• Full-time work 
• Position is located in Irving TX, Columbus OH, & Pittsburgh PA
• No company sponsored housing, relocation, visa sponsorship or Green Card assistance available
• The intern will be assigned a project-focused opportunity aligned with a current priority within the McKesson Pharmacy Systems Engineering team. The work may include designing, developing, testing, or evaluating software and AI-enabled capabilities that improve engineering productivity, operational workflows, or user experiences. This is a hands-on opportunity to apply software engineering, data, and responsible AI practices in a dynamic and growing business.
• The internship program also provides networking, access to executives, structured performance, coaching, and fun activities!

Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be currently enrolled in a degree program for the duration of the internship to be eligible.
• 3.0 minimum GPA.
• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program applicable to Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related technical field and entering your Junior or Senior year.
• Coding experience in JavaScript, Python, or another programming or scripting language.
• Understanding of relational databases, SQL queries, data structures, and software development fundamentals.

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Willingness to learn, develop, and contribute in an agile development environment.
• Experience with using AI-assisted development tools to improve software quality and engineering efficiency coursework, projects, or hands-on exposure to artificial intelligence, machine learning, generative AI, or natural language processing.
• Energetic and curious self-starter who brings interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and creative problem-solving to the team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
