At Smith Douglas Homes, we pride ourselves on being one of the fastest growing home building companies in the country. We are looking for Summer 2026 Land Aquisition Interns to join our team. We have open opportunities across our various Divisions located throughout the Southeast and Texas.  

Position Summary: 

Smith Douglas Homes is excited to offer an 8-week Summer Internship Program designed to give college students hands-on experience in land acqusition. This immersive program allows interns to work directly with Land Development Managers in developing and monitoring the land development progress of acquired land for the local market.

What You’ll Do:

  1. Work with Land Development Manager on document review to ensure that lots are bought on time, within budget and to company standards
  2. Help to coordinate amenity requirements and entrance construction
  3. Help to resolve Construction Manager concerns related to relevant lots
  4. Update land development budget as needed
  5. Monitor lot development process for quality and timeliness
  6. Coordinate with Land Acquisition Manager regarding requested deal terms and preliminary budgets
  7. Work with Land Team to prepare lot listing/fence/lot fit plan with Construction Manager
  8. Assist in Inspecting finished lots for completion to turn over to Construction Department
  9. As needed, communicate with consultants to ensure accuracy of lot fit matrix
  10. Inspect phase for completion and coordinate resolution
  11. Complete lot acceptance check list prior to closing on lots

Education:  

We're looking for students currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Land Management or related field with an interest in residential construction.
