About The Company
GalaxEye is Indian headquartered space tech startup and first Indian HQ startup to send the Satellite in the orbit soon. GalaxEye is building the world's first multi-sensor imaging satellite, The Drishti Mission. These indigenously built satellites will enable governments, defense, and industries to perform advanced state-of-the-art geospatial analyses. GalaxEye's Drishti mission has a unique multi-sensor capability that brings intuitive all-time, all-weather imagery from space, even during night time and cloud cover. The Drishti Mission is currently in progress and is scheduled to launch into space. Access to our image dataset will prove to be user-friendly for analysts and consumers, unlocking a plethora of opportunities and benefits, both known and unknown in the current scenario. GalaxEye is an IIT Madras-incubated space tech startup. It was founded by a team of 5 students/alumni from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, who have previously worked together as part of Team Avishkar Hyperloop, a student competition team. They were selected as the only Asian finalist at the SpaceX Hyperloop Competition 2019, hosted by Elon Musk.
About the Role

We are looking for a motivated RF & Microwave Engineering Intern to work with our RF engineering team on the design, analysis, simulation, and testing of advanced RF and antenna systems.

The candidate will get hands-on exposure to RF circuits, antennas, phased arrays, radar systems, RF measurements, and electromagnetic simulations, and will work closely with experienced RF engineers on real-world engineering problems.

Responsibilities

  • Support RF and microwave system design and analysis for radar applications.
  • Perform antenna and antenna-array simulations, analysis, and optimization.
  • Work on phased-array antennas, beam steering, beam-forming, and RF front-end concepts.
  • Assist with RF measurements using equipment such as VNA, spectrum analyser, signal generator, and power meter.
  • Perform RF calculations related to link budget, gain, losses, noise, power, impedance matching, and system performance.
  • Support EM simulations and post-processing using tools such as CST, HFSS, MATLAB, or Python.
  • Develop scripts for RF data analysis, visualisation, and automation using MATLAB/Python.
  • Assist in laboratory testing, debugging, characterization, and documentation of RF hardware.

Requirements

Required Skills

  • Strong fundamentals in RF & Microwave Engineering.
  • Familiarity with RF test and measurement equipment.
  • Good understanding of electromagnetic theory and antenna fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of transmission lines, S-parameters, impedance matching, RF components, and microwave circuits.
  • Basic understanding of phased arrays and beam steering is desirable.
  • Programming knowledge in Python or MATLAB.
  • Ability to analyse technical problems and work independently.

Good to Have

  • Experience with CST / HFSS / ADS / AWR or similar RF/EM tools.
  • Knowledge of radar systems, SAR, MIMO, phased arrays, or wireless communication systems.
  • Exposure to PCB/RF hardware design and fabrication.
