Contract length: 4–6 months, with a possible paid 6-month extension based on performance and budget availability
Hours: flexible,
20-40 hours per week, during CET core working hours (Monday to Friday)
Location: Amsterdam or Lyon (to be confirmed) Hybrid arrangement: office-based with some remote flexibility
Travel: none, except relocating to Amsterdam or Lyon
Reporting to: Language Access and Engagement Specialist
Erasmus+ supports traineeships (work placements, internships) abroad at any workplace for students currently enrolled in higher education institutions in Program Countries at short-cycle Bachelor and Master level as well as for doctoral candidates. These opportunities are also open to recent graduates.
Erasmus+ traineeships are open to any student enrolled in a higher education institution holding an Erasmus+ Charter for Higher Education.
The traineeship must be relevant for the degree-related learning and personal development needs and, wherever possible, be integrated in the study program.
A traineeship can take place at any organization located anywhere in the world (with the exception of EU institutions, bodies and agencies).

Within CLEAR Global, the Influence & Language Justice (I&LJ) team sits at the intersection of language access and movement building. The team currently leads the integration of Tarjimly into CLEAR Global, bringing together two large and active communities of language volunteers and professionals around a shared language justice mission. Our work spans community engagement, advocacy, and operational support for language access initiatives across humanitarian contexts. As an intern on this team, you will be embedded in day-to-day activities that are both community-facing and behind the scenes, contributing to work that has a real impact on how people access information in their own language.
The role
Assist the Community team in engaging a volunteer community of over 200,000 language professionals, coordinate collaboration among volunteers, ensure healthy growth of the volunteer community, as well as timely and effective communication.
Responsibilities
- Maintain effective communication with community members, ensuring they remain engaged and have a clear understanding of expectations
- Assist with outreach to new community members, both strategically and in response to crisis
- Support in the planning, logistics and management of community engagement events and activities
- Support in the recruitment of community members for in-CLEAR Global roles and their training and preparation for these
- Support in the monitoring and development of community member dialogue within digital platforms
- Support CLEAR Global teams in identifying opportunities for community member involvement within workflows and activities
- Support the development of role descriptions, coordination structures and processes for community member engagement initiatives
- Support community members in their experience with CLEAR Global, and ensuring that various community programs and processes run efficiently
- Carry out administrative tasks, data entry and data collection
- Handle other community management tasks as assigned
- Other duties as required

Qualifications
- Eligible for the Erasmus+ traineeship
- Fluent in spoken and written English; knowledge of other languages an advantage
- Strong communication skills, with particular awareness of intercultural contexts
- Previous experience in translation and/or interpreting (internships and volunteering are considered valid experiences) an advantage
- Previous experience working with non-profit organizations an advantage
- Familiarity with technology (with a special focus on translation and/or data entry tools) a plus
