The Operations Strategy & Transformation Intern supports enterprise and functional strategic planning, transformation initiatives, and project execution across Operations and adjacent functions. The role provides hands-on exposure to senior leaders and cross-functional teams while helping translate strategic priorities into structured plans, workshops, tools, communications, and follow-up actions.


The position is designed for a student interested in operations, supply chain, strategy, project management, or business transformation.


This position is for our Summer 2027 Intern Program and has a start date of May 2027. The role is based on site at our Waukesha office.


Key Responsibilities


Strategic Planning & Workshop Support

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of strategic planning workshops across Operations, Engineering, Service, Supply Chain, Quality, and other corporate functions.
  • Coordinate workshop logistics, participant communications, materials, meeting preparation, and follow-up activities.
  • Capture key themes, priorities, decisions, and outputs from strategic planning sessions and translate them into concise leadership-ready materials.
  • Support development and maintenance of strategic initiative documentation and presentation materials.

Project & Transformation Management

  • Develop and maintain project management tools, schedules, trackers, dashboards, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with structuring project charters, schedules, closeout materials, and standardized project-management templates.
  • Support development of SharePoint and Smartsheet-based execution hubs and repositories to improve visibility and consistency across initiatives.
  • Track actions, milestones, dependencies, and follow-up items supporting transformation work.


Education, Skills, Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a BS degree (preferably in Business Management, Supply Chain or similar field).
  • Microsoft Office experience (including Excel).
  • Proficient oral and written communication and able to write clearly and succinctly to get a message across.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
