Circle of Care for Families and Children of Passaic County, Inc., located in Woodland Park, NJ, is seeking a Community Relations & Development Intern for the Spring Semester.
Summary of Learning Opportunity:
The Community Relations & Development Internship is designed to provide students and recent graduates with hands-on exposure to community outreach, nonprofit communications, partnership development, and public engagement within a nonprofit human services organization.
Throughout the internship, the intern will work closely with the Community Relations & Development team and have opportunities to observe, learn, and participate in outreach initiatives that increase awareness of services and resources available to youth and families throughout Passaic County.
This is a temporary, unpaid internship focused on experiential learning, professional development, mentorship, and the practical application of skills learned in an academic setting.
Learning Opportunities May Include:
• Gaining exposure to the planning and coordination of community outreach events, workshops, and partnership activities
• Learning how nonprofit organizations build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders
• Participating in tabling events, presentations, and public awareness initiatives
• Developing an understanding of how outreach materials and community resource information are created and maintained
• Gaining hands-on experience creating social media content, newsletters, flyers, and other promotional materials
• Conducting research on community organizations, resources, potential partnerships, and engagement opportunities
• Learning how outreach activities are tracked, documented, and evaluated through data collection and reporting
• Assisting with the preparation of materials for community meetings, trainings, events, and special initiatives
• Developing professional communication, organization, collaboration, and administrative skills in a nonprofit environment
• Participating in team meetings and trainings to gain a broader understanding of nonprofit operations and community-based services
• Learning and applying Circle of Care's standards related to professionalism, accuracy, confidentiality, and timely communication
Education and Experience:
Current enrollment in an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree Program, or recent graduation from a relevant discipline such as communications, marketing, social work, psychology, public health, nonprofit management, human services, or a related field.

As a Care Management Organization (CMO), we partner with families to design, implement, and manage Individual Service Plans (ISPs), utilizing both informal and community supports for children with complex needs, including behavioral, emotional, and developmental challenges.
