About the Role

Job Title: Financial Wellbeing Insights Intern

Department: Marketing

About the Role:

This internship offers practical experience in financial wellbeing research, measurement, and analysis within the credit union industry. The Financial Wellbeing Insights Intern will work collaboratively with team members to explore how member financial wellbeing can be measured and evaluated using organizational data, industry research, and emerging best practices. This role aims to provide meaningful experience in data analysis, research, program evaluation, and financial wellness initiatives while contributing to EastRise's mission of building stronger and sustainable financial futures for the people and communities it serves. This intern will work in our Marketing department reporting to the Community Impact Manager.

Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Location: 88 Technology Park Way, South Burlington, VT

Specific duties include: 

· Identify and inventory existing data sources related to member financial wellbeing.

· Research and evaluate indicators, metrics, and proxies that may be used to measure financial resilience and financial wellbeing.

· Support implementation of learnings and recommendations from the Filene Financial Wellbeing Measurement Working Group.

· Conduct research on industry best practices, trends, and emerging approaches to financial wellbeing measurement.

· Analyze available data and identify opportunities to enhance assessment of member financial wellbeing.

· Assist in evaluating the effectiveness and impact of financial education programs and member wellbeing initiatives.

· Contribute to the development of a Financial Wellbeing Measurement Roadmap.

· Prepare findings, recommendations, and reports for stakeholders and leadership teams.

· Participate in team meetings, intern sessions, and company training as designated by your manager.

· Create and deliver a final group presentation about a selected project topic along with key learnings to a group of stakeholders.

· Conduct and assist with other duties and special projects as requested.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Currently pursuing or has a degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related field.

· Interest in financial wellbeing, consumer finance, financial education, or research and analytics.

· Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to gather, organize, and interpret data from multiple sources.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

· Experience with research methods, data analysis, reporting, or program evaluation is preferred.

· Previous internship, academic research, or work experience in financial services, research, analytics, or related fields is ideal.

Other Skills

Must be at least 18 years of age. Favorable Background, Credit, Criminal, Bondability, and Reference Checks required. (Motor Vehicle check depending on position.) Travel to other branches or locations may be required depending on position.
