Over the course of this 10-week program, interns will gain tangible, hands-on experience and insight into our business operations. After 3 days of orientation and training, you’ll join our Software Engineering team, where you’ll be assigned projects with unlimited opportunity for challenges and achievement. We have, very often, considered our interns for post-graduation roles within the company.

What you’d be doing:

  • Learn and network with employees, leaders, and other interns during an on-the-job experience.
  • Potential to earn college credit.
  • Provide research and analysis support on ad-hoc projects.
  • Fulfill tasks and project assignments set out by team leaders.
  • Receive coaching, mentoring, and feedback from knowledgeable SageSure professionals.
  • Support the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications and solutions.
  • Write, review, and troubleshoot code, with a primary focus on Java-based development.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and other technology partners to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and other software development lifecycle activities.
  • Assist with identifying and resolving software defects and technical issues.
  • Contribute to the development of scalable, reliable, and maintainable software solutions.
  • Learn and apply software engineering best practices, including source control, documentation, testing, and agile development methodologies.
  • Participate in team meetings, technical discussions, and project planning activities.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Is currently enrolled in a relevant degree program with a focus on Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, with an anticipated graduation date in 2028.
  • Has foundational programming knowledge and experience with Java through coursework, projects, or prior experience.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Understands object-oriented programming concepts and software development fundamentals.
  • Has strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Is detail-oriented and able to approach technical problems with curiosity and persistence.
  • Is comfortable multitasking and eager to learn new technologies, tools, and development practices.
  • Has the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as a team member.
  • Is authorized to work in the United States.

Highly preferred candidates also have:

  • Prior internship, technical project, or software development experience.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Experience developing applications or completing academic projects using Java.
  • Familiarity with Git or other source control tools.
  • Exposure to APIs, databases, SQL, cloud technologies, or web application development.
  • Familiarity with automated testing, debugging tools, or software testing concepts.
  • Exposure to Agile or Scrum development environments.
  • Experience with additional programming languages or technologies beyond Java.
