THE ROLE

The Supply Chain Data Analytics & Process Automation Intern will support the North America Supply Chain team turn operational data into decisions and make day-to-day processes faster, more reliable, and easier to scale. The intern will build and maintain reporting and dashboards across demand, inventory, service, and supply performance; support Phase-In / Phase-Out (PIPO) execution so product transitions land on time, in full, and with minimal write-off; and identify manual, repetitive work that can be improved through automation and AI-assisted tools such as Excel Power Query, Power BI, Power Automate, and Microsoft Copilot. This is a structured learning role reporting to the Project Manager, Supply Chain, with coaching on supply chain fundamentals, analytics practices, and continuous improvement methods.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build, maintain, and automate recurring supply chain reports and dashboards (Excel, Power BI) covering demand, inventory, service level, fill rate, and excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Document current-state processes through process maps, SOPs, and work instructions, and identify manual, repetitive, or error-prone steps that are candidates for standardization or automation.
  • Design and pilot automation solutions using Power Query, Power Automate, Office Scripts or VBA, and AI-assisted tools such as Microsoft Copilot to reduce manual effort and cycle time.
  • Support Phase-In / Phase-Out (PIPO) execution cross-functionally with Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Marketing, Master Data, and Customer Service, tracking launch and discontinuation timelines, run-out plans, and cutover readiness.
  • Collect, clean, and reconcile data from SAP, Blue Yonder, and other planning and reporting systems; investigate discrepancies and escalate data quality issues to the appropriate process owner.
  • Translate analysis into clear recommendations by highlighting trends, exceptions, and root causes rather than reporting numbers alone.
  • Maintain the PIPO tracker and related dashboards; monitor phase-out inventory run-down, flag obsolescence risk early, and recommend disposition.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements, test solutions, and train end users on new reports and automated workflows.
  • Apply basic continuous improvement methods, including process mapping and root cause analysis, to recurring supply chain pain points and propose corrective actions.
  • Measure and report the impact of improvement projects (hours saved, errors avoided, cycle time and accuracy gains) before and after implementation.
  • Assist with ad hoc analysis requests from Supply Chain leadership, including scenario analysis, KPI deep dives, and business case support.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Must be actively enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program throughout the internship.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and Power Query; working knowledge of Power BI or Tableau preferred. Exposure to SQL, Python, Power Automate, Visio, or SAP is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large data sets, identify issues, and generate practical solutions
  • Curious and investigative mindset, comfortable asking why a process works the way it does and proposing a better way
  • Able to stay organized, manage multiple workstreams, and adjust priorities while working with several stakeholders and deadlines.
  • Self-starter with solid oral and written communication skills and the ability to present findings clearly to non-technical audiences

Desirable:

  • Exposure to process improvement or Lean Six Sigma concepts, or to AI-assisted productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot
  • Ability to collaborate across functions and levels, gather input from stakeholders, and follow through independently on agreed solutions.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, interpersonal skills, and follow-through through coursework, internships, projects, or work experience.
