Program details:

Position title: 

Intern, Technology, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering & Platform Operations 

Your role at Sephora... 

The DevOps, SRE & Platform Operations Intern will join a high-impact engineering team focused on improving system reliability, reducing operational toil, increasing automation, and strengthening engineering productivity. 

This internship provides hands-on experience in modern cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, SRE practices, observability, operational analytics, platform engineering, and infrastructure automation. 

The intern will work closely with Infrastructure Engineering, Database Engineering, SRE, Platform Engineering, and DevEx teams on a project that delivers measurable operational improvements and business value.

What you will accomplish: 

• Analyze operational workflows, infrastructure and platform metrics, and service health signals to identify automation and reliability improvement opportunities. 

• Develop and test scripts, tools, dashboards, or workflows that reduce manual effort and improve operational visibility in a controlled environment. 

• Contribute to monitoring, observability, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, database operations, or developer self-service initiatives based on the selected project scope. 

• Document the solution through architecture guidance, operational processes, runbooks, test evidence, and a knowledge-transfer package that enables future use and extension. 

• Present the business problem, technical approach, results, operational impact, lessons learned, and recommended next steps to engineering and leadership audiences.

Qualifications & experience: 

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline. 

• Experience with at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, Java, Go, JavaScript, or Bash. 

• Foundational understanding of Linux, networking, APIs, Git source control, and cloud computing concepts. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn unfamiliar technologies and translate a broad problem into a practical project plan. 

• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document technical work and explain outcomes to technical and leadership audiences. 

• Exposure through coursework, projects, or internships to cloud platforms, containers, infrastructure automation, CI/CD, observability, platform engineering, reliability engineering, or distributed systems. 

  • Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or AWS 

  • Docker and Kubernetes 

  • Terraform and infrastructure automation 

  • GitHub Actions or Jenkins 

  • Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, or Datadog 

Eligibility requirements: 

• Graduating in 2027 or 2028 (undergraduate or graduate degree) 

• Work schedule must align with 9-5PM, Pacific Standard Time 

• Must permanently reside and work in the U.S. 

• Must be open to relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area upon graduation for consideration for full-time hybrid positions* 

• Available from June 14 - August 20, 2027

The target hourly pay for this position is $30.00 - $30.00. The actual hourly pay offered depends on various factors, which may include, as applicable, the individual applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.
