About the Role

What we look for:

Students and graduates based in Munich or the surrounding area who are curious about AI and keen to tackle real business challenges with technology. We welcome applicants studying Computer Science, Informatics, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related field. You don’t need to be an expert coder, and you can apply individually—teams can be formed on the day.
We’re looking for people who are excited to exchange ideas with us, meet our team, and learn more about what we do. You’ll also get the chance to contribute your ideas to real-life customer challenges and help shape solutions to cases we work on with our clients.

What we require:

  • You are studying or have graduated in Computer Science, Informatics, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related field.
  • You are interested in AI and how technology can solve real business challenges.
  • You bring your ideas, perspective, and willingness to explore.
  • An interest in AI and familiarity with agentic systems are helpful. You do not need to be an expert coder.
  • You are based in Munich or the surrounding area.

  • A real business challenge and datasets provided by Hubert Burda Media.
  • The opportunity to work individually or as part of a team to develop an AI solution and present it to a jury of OMMAX and Burda experts.
  • An exploration of potential AI applications in portfolio strategy, editorial relevance, consumer orientation, commercial potential, data availability, and reputational risk.
  • Insights and hands-on guidance from the OMMAX and Burda AI teams, including Lutz Finger, Chief AI Officer at OMMAX, and Alexandre Davin, Director Technology & Digital Transformation at Burda.
  • Networking over food and drinks, conversations with both teams and fellow participants, and the chance to learn about potential career opportunities at OMMAX.
