About The Company
We're a full-service horticultural producer delivering live plants and value-added solutions to major retailers and independent partners across Western Canada and the Northwestern United States. Rainbow started in 1985 as a family-led greenhouse guided by the Vander Waal's commitment to quality, relationships, and long-term growth. Today, with the confidence of our retail partners, the dedication of our teams, and the continued support of our customers, we continue to expand our operations. We produce ornamental annuals, perennials, tropical foliage, indoor flowering plants, vegetable starters, and cut flowers on a commercial scale, using advanced systems across every stage of production. Spanning more than five million square feet of growing space in British Columbia and Alberta, our teams combine decades of horticultural expertise with precision systems that emphasize efficiency and deliver consistent results at scale. We continue to innovate through automation, fertigation, and integrated pest management practices. These advancements help us support our teams, protect resources, and deliver high-quality plants year-round. Every system, from propagation and cultivation to distribution and merchandising, has been refined to provide our retail partners with a complete, full-service approach. Our mission is to grow opportunities for plants, people, and partnerships. That means cultivating careers, building trusted relationships, and maintaining practices that strengthen both our operations and the resources we depend on. Rainbow’s people-centered culture reflects our GRIT values: Go for it, Rise to the challenge, Improve every day, and Tackle it together. Across all facilities, we’re focused on continuous improvement, shared success, and advancing modern horticulture through efficiency and teamwork. Explore how reliability, innovation, and collaboration define what we do every day.
