About The Company
A family of farmers, neighbors and friends. Since 1914, Kemps has been delighting families throughout the upper Midwest with wholesome and delicious dairy products. From our beginnings as a small creamery in Southeastern Minnesota, Kemps has extended its roots to include the manufacture and marketing of fresh milk, premium ice cream and frozen yogurt, frozen novelties, sour cream and cottage cheese through retail supermarkets and food service channels. Headquartered today in St. Paul, Minnesota, we operate six manufacturing facilities in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota and have over 1,200 employees. Our commitment to taste and quality remains unchanged. Our purpose at Kemps is to “Nourish Families.” • By providing wholesome dairy products that nourish families and promote happiness. • Through the support we provide each other as a family of employees. • Through the engagement of our employees in the communities we serve. • Through the return we provide for our farmer owners and their families. Kemps is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dairy Farmers of America. 100% of our profits go to dairy farmers and their families.
About the Role

Looking to gain hands-on experience with a leading dairy food manufacturer? As a Customer Development Analyst Intern, you'll work alongside our Sales and Customer Development teams to help bring products to market, analyze industry trends, and support key retail customers. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your business, analytics, and category management skills while gaining real-world experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.  This part-time summer internship is ideal for students who are curious, analytical, and eager to learn how products move from manufacturing facilities to store shelves and into consumers' hands.

What You'll Do:

  • Create customer-facing sales materials, including sell sheets and product presentations.
  • Research and analyze market and industry trends to support business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain product catalogs for warehouse and DSD (Direct Store Delivery) channels.
  • Assist with category reviews and data analysis for regional and national retail accounts.
  • Conduct competitive analyses and product deep dives to identify market opportunities.
  • Participate in retail store visits with sales representatives, support category reset projects and assist with in-store product sampling.

What You'll Gain:

  • Exposure to sales, category management, and customer development within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Experience working with retailer data, market trends, and consumer insights.
  • Opportunities to collaborate with cross-functional teams and industry professionals.
  • Practical, hands-on experience that builds a strong foundation for a career in sales, marketing, analytics, or consumer packaged goods.
Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university with Junior or Senior standing at the time of the internship.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Consumer Insights, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Coursework or experience in data analysis, market research, consumer insights, or business analytics is preferred.
  • Available to work full-time during Summer 2027, with an anticipated start date in late May or early June and completion in mid-August.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience working with data visualization or analytics tools is a plus.
  • Local candidates are preferred.
