About The Company
Prevention Links is a community-led nonprofit organization with an extensive track record in building a brighter future for communities in New Jersey. Prevention Links promotes healthy, resilient communities through education, family strengthening, and addiction recovery support. With community being defined as any environment where people live, work, or learn, our goal is to pull together all available resources to eliminate the deleterious effects of drugs, alcohol, violence, and inadequate educational and health institutions in our communities. Our mission is to foster healthy, sustainable communities by empowering people through education, collaboration, and by serving as the linkage to resources. Established in 1971 as one of The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD) satellite offices, our history is extensive and founded on the belief that addiction is preventable and treatable. Our work focuses on identifying and enhancing existing strengths within the individual, family, school, and work setting to serve as the first and most valuable resource in sustainable revitalization of all types of community. Through implementing training programs and evidence-based strategies; using practices and programs that are outcome-based; and inviting community members to express their needs and the best ways to meet them, we empower all segments of the community to be actively engaged in changing their environments.
About the Role

About the Opportunity

Prevention Links is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and dedicated Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or Master of Social Work (MSW) intern to join our Recovery High School team in Roselle, NJ.

This internship provides an opportunity for social work students to gain hands-on experience supporting adolescents navigating substance use recovery while pursuing their educational goals. Students will gain practical experience in individual recovery support, group facilitation, case management, curriculum development, documentation, family engagement, and community resource coordination. Interns will also have opportunities to incorporate evidence-based interventions into recovery planning and contribute to programming designed to promote accountability, emotional regulation, self-esteem, and long-term recovery.

The ideal candidate is passionate about working with young people, interested in substance use recovery, and committed to creating a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and in their recovery.
