What You’ll Work On

Depending on your project assignment, you may:

  • Optimize forge sizes and removal envelopes to improve product quality and bring material within required tolerances.
  • Conduct data analysis on batches with poor sonic performance, including indications or reduced scan speeds, to investigate potential causes.
  • Support cut quality improvement initiatives involving abrasive and band saws.
  • Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends and opportunities for process and product improvement.
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations teams to investigate quality concerns and develop practical solutions.

What You’ll Gain

  1. Hands-on experience applying materials science and metallurgy principles in a manufacturing environment.
  2. Practical experience with forging, product tolerances, and material removal processes.
  3. Experience using data analysis to investigate product quality and process performance.
  4. Exposure to sonic inspection performance and quality-related manufacturing challenges.
  5. Experience supporting cut quality improvements involving abrasive and band saw equipment.
  6. Opportunities to collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams on real-world manufacturing projects.
