What You’ll Work On
Depending on your project assignment, you may:
- Conduct a statistical review of cobbles on the rolling mill, including cobble locations, grades, speeds, causes, and other factors to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Analyze cobbles associated with restbar influence, comparing old versus new restbar styles.
- Perform a statistical review of dimensional measurements from the mill compared with laser gauge measurements to evaluate the influence of downstream equipment on bar size.
- Reverse engineer existing equipment and create engineering drawings for equipment where drawings are not currently available.
- Analyze rolling process data to identify trends, investigate variation, and support mill performance improvements.
- Partner with Operations and Engineering teams to support day-to-day rolling mill projects and shop operations.
