Position Overview

LGES Vertech is seeking motivated interns and co-op students to join our EMO/AI Data team and contribute to cutting-edge projects addressing some of the most complex challenges in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). As an intern, you will have the opportunity to apply data science methods and advanced algorithms to enhance our suite of data-driven products, driving innovations that make BESS safer, more reliable, and more efficient in grid integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Predictive Analytics team to support research, exploratory data analysis (EDA), and the development of data models.
  • Leverage AI models to generate synthetic labels that improve and calibrate machine learning models.
  • Research industry best practices and applications of algorithms in battery analytics to inform and enhance project approaches.
  • Assist in building, testing, and validating machine learning pipelines for predictive maintenance, performance optimization, and anomaly detection in BESS.
  • Communicate findings through clear visualizations, presentations, and documentation to support knowledge sharing across technical and non-technical teams.

Job Requirements

  • Experience with Time Series models.
  • Good understanding of traditional ML models
  • Available for at least 4 months of internship.
  • Internship is onsite at our Westborough office.

Skills and Experience:

Required 

  • Enrolled or graduated with a Ph.D. or MS in computer science, Data Science, Mathematics, or equivalent degree.
  • Proficient in Python and standard ML tools and packages
  • Experience working in a Linux environment.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Databricks/Snowflake/GCP) and containers (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Good understanding of SW design methodologies
  • User-level experience with Git or equivalent
  • Legally authorized to work in the USA

Preferred

  • At least 1-2 years of relevant industry experience
  • Familiarity with microservices infrastructure on the cloud
