About The Company
C12 is a Paris-based quantum computing startup building the next generation of scalable quantum computers. Unlike Big Tech players, we’re pioneering a unique approach rooted in breakthrough materials science and novel interconnects. It's widely seen as the only path to true large-scale quantum computing. We’re early-stage, fast-moving, and already a leader in Europe for spin qubits. Backed by over €25M in equity funding, our international team of 85 includes over 25 world-class quantum scientists. Together, we’ve built a first-of-its-kind quantum chip production line and delivered devices with record-setting performance. C12 is already generating revenue by partnering with leading industrial companies, helping them begin their quantum computing journey and tackle their most complex computational challenges.
About the Role

Founded in 2020 and based in the heart of Paris, C12’s mission is to be at the center of one of the biggest technological breakthroughs of the century and change the course of history by building a universal quantum computer.

At C12, we believe that achieving a true breakthrough in quantum computing requires rethinking the fundamentals. That’s why our founders—deeply rooted in academic and engineering excellence—have chosen carbon nanotubes as the building blocks of our quantum processors. This ultra-pure material dramatically reduces error rates, boosts performance, and minimizes hardware overhead—key ingredients for scalable, fault-tolerant quantum computing. By crafting a unique approach that scales, we aim to revolutionize quantum computing just as silicon transformed classical computing.

Since our founding, we’ve raised over €25 million in funding, published 11 scientific papers, and secured 8 patents. Today, our fast-growing team of 80+, including 25 PhDs, has over 26 nationalities represented. We have our own cutting-edge lab spaces in Paris' historic Panthéon district, where scientists, engineers, and innovators work side-by-side to tackle some of the most exciting technical challenges of our time.

If you're passionate about shaping the future of quantum technology and want to make a real impact, C12 offers a unique environment to grow, learn, and innovate.

Your role at C12:

An optimal qubit calibration is a necessary condition for a good and operational quantum computer. Calibrating qubits is a highly non-trivial task which requires playing with lots of parameters at the same time and due to design variability, must be performed from scratch for every new chip. Thankfully, recent advancements in AI and Machine Learning overcome these difficulties and help accelerate qubit calibration and quantum hardware research.

As part of the AI for Quantum team at C12, you will design, develop and deploy qubit calibration algorithms. Your goal will be to use AI and ML tools to automate certain phases of qubit calibration and, by doing so, support our Qubit Control team.

Your job will involve:

  • Scientific reading (articles, open-source solutions, …)

  • Implementation of cutting-edge algorithms for qubit calibration

  • Writing and maintaining the code base for industrialisation purposes

  • Testing and measuring on C12’s quantum chips

About You:
  • You are enrolled in a Master’s program in Physics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or a related field

  • You have an appetite for coding

  • You are eager to learn physics and to interact with both scientists and developers on a daily basis

Requirements

  • You are proficient in Python

  • You have good experience with AI and Machine Learning tools

  • You have some knowledge of Quantum Computing or Quantum Physics

  • You have a good level of English, both oral and written
